Extending the dataset

The original data run through 2010. This is the plan to extend coverage.

Clean & reshape the original hand-coded file

Parse the source records into a tidy event-level dataset with Type-A / Type-B labels, coordinates, dates, and source links. Done — see Data & Construction.

Extend coverage beyond 2010

Add scandals from 2011 onward using updated BishopAccountability records, state attorney-general reports, and diocesan disclosure lists.

Publish a versioned, citable release

Tag releases (e.g. via Zenodo / a DOI) so downstream papers can cite a specific data version.
